"Always In My Heart" and a year of changing Eila

Hi ya!

If you'd rather go straight to the 8 x 8 canvas I am sharing today, scroll down past the photos of myself!

Not exactly back to school but back to work! honestly, I have no clue where time flew! feels like yesterday I had my first day of vacation and pooff! it just vanished.

I have spent many days on purging my stash again, cleaning out and sorting stuff. Moved the furniture around in the nook and voilà! feels really good to have the light come in differently with an open space behind my back towards the computer station. While the steam was up, we also cleaned out our basement. How about 7 packing boxes of photos from almost a life time shrinking into 1,5!

The weather has been rather foul but hey! one can do lots of stuff even if it's chucking it down outside. We did have some fabulous days with sun though and made several absolutely wonderful outings outside Stockholm. Sharing some piccies here.

I started our vacay by cutting my hair in a shorter style, kept behind my ears.

Over this year, I have embarked on a healther lifestyle.

Changing my eating habits and exercising every day. I have
also given my body some special, highly
concentrated vitamin and mineral supplements.
The result is -13 kg or 2 dress sizes and an Eila
brimming with energy.

For the first time in my entire life, I have actually
run on the treadmill! unthinkable a year ago.
Proves it is never too late to do something!

Hubbs and me on one of our outings.
Raining like it did almost the whole of July.

So this is me, I'm 56 years old and damned proud of the
woman I am! Silver threads in my hair, and
crow's feet around my eyes but it's me.
Full of life and happy!

And now to the 8 x 8 canvas, the third and last of the 3 I created with this gorgeous young lady - this one is called "Always in My Heart ". It is now mounted in a black shadowbox.

I won the papers from Elena Morgun on Facebook earlier this year.
The collection is called "The Sweetest Thing" and
it certainly is so pretty with its romantic details of
flora and fauna. Just my cup of tea!

Stencilling, misting and stamping. Layering fussy cutting.

Stashraided Prima embellies and newer bitty Prima blooms.

And that's it!

Thanks so much for coming by, I really appreciate it!

Lots of love,

xox Eila

Flowers for a friend

Full throttle I said in my previous blogpost and that's exactly what it was until the moment I left the office for 3 weeks of summer hols. Vacay YAY!

Have a card and a gift box to share with you today. They were given to a friend who is always there for me. She knows exactly when to kick my butt and when to be a listening ear.

The papers are KaiserCraft and the blooms are Prima of course.

The masked flowers are coloured with Prima's water colour pencils.

And the gift box that went with the card;

The box is dressed in papers from Prima's Coffee Break collection.
Blooms and embellies are Prima too of course.

With no early mornings or late evenings in the office
I am free to rummage in my srappy nook
and create whenever I want. Happy happy!

Thank you SO much for your visit!

Where Angels Meet

Goodnes gracious! Talk about full throttle these last few weeks before the summer holidays. Everything has to be squeezed in even if there is no time available. Just a couple of weeks to go and then - bliss!

It has been the coldest and rainiest June in years so far. Yesterday was Midsummer Eve, traditionally a day and evening spent out of doors but nope, not this years. Thank you very much for my fleece sweater!

I am into 8x8 canvases at the moment, all mounted in shadow boxes and given as gifts to friends. The one I am sharing today is in remembrance of a dear dear friend who recently left us after having battled ALS for some time. A hellish decease.

The title comes from a poem - Where Angels Meet.

Papers are from Prima's Debutante and
Something Blue collection.

All flowers are also from Prima, mostly from the
Debutante and Butterfly collections,
as is the resin cherub.

Tattered Angels mist in Black Cherry and
silver microbeads.

Happy Midsummer to you all!
and thank you so much
for popping by for a visit!

Happiness In A Box

It is the time of the year when we have lots of celebrations in the family and today many schools in Stockholm close for the summer not to open again until mid-August. The city is inundated with happy children and young adults dressed in their summer best.

Ah! I can remember that bubbly feeling thinking of a looong summer ahead. Still do!

For one of the birthdays earlier in May, I made a card and a matching gift box.

Here's first the card;

Papers used are Swedish Maja Design from my stash.

The flowers and leaves are from my stash of
Prima blooms. I see Lyric, Princess, Rondelle and some other
collections represented in the cluster.
Have to say I find the most fabulous things in that Prima stash!

The flowers have all been sprinkled in Prima Glass
Beads in Crystal.

Next the gift box that was made in the same colours and with the same papers as the card;

All 4 sides were masked, misted and stamped looking slightly
different from the next.

And here's the lid propped up on the side.

Again, Prima blooms from my stash.
The die-cut bubbles/rings are by Memory Box.

I have another canvas sitting on my desk waiting for
 the finishing touches.
I will share it with you next time.

Till then - hip hip for summer, strawberries and
ice cold glasses of Chardonnay or why not rosé!

Thank you for taking the time to pop by!

To The Moon And Back

Boy is the rain chucking it down in Stockholm today! poor poor runners doing the Stockholm Marathon!

I have now finished the project that was sitting on my desk when I wrote my previous blogpost; another 8x8 canvas that will be mounted in a shadow box. It is designed to sit next to the one I shared previously.

Here it is - To The Moon And Back;

The papers used are Prima and Norwegian Tilda.

Prima Color Bloom Sprays in Peony and Cotton Candy
as well as
Tattered Angels Mel's Diners, Teal High Heal and Sapphire.

Loose Prima and Petaloo blooms and leaves from
my stash.
Stenciling and stamping.

The Prima resin butterfly was first embossed in
Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel
and then the tips of the wings were dipped in
Prima gold glitter.

Thank you ever so much for popping in for a peek!
See you!

You Are My Happy

Hello beautiful peeps!

Mother Nature is amazing. No matter come rain or hail, it continues it's predestined seasons. It's end of May and spring is at its peak. So beautiful out there!

Blogging has been my last priority during these months when family came first. Now it's time to take care of myself and the best remedy is to start rummaging in my scrappy nook. Inspiration came at once and here is the result; a 20 cm x 20 cm (8"x8") canvas - You Are My Happy. It will be mounted in a shadow box.

Everything on it is from my stash of loose stuff.
The papers are Norwegian Tilda and Prima.

Nothing is like scrapping, forgetting all about time and
everything else except what I've got in front of
me on the desk. Bliss!

Thank you for taking the time to come for a visit!
I have a couple of other projects on my desk so I'll be back
to share them with you.

A page just for me - Serenity

Hello good people!

The evil flu has hit me a second time within a few weeks. One might call me Eila the Rednosed. Lots of tissues I say :)

Last weekend I finished a little something just for me. A page based on papers from Prima Almanac and Fairy Belle collection A4 pads, a paper from Prima 12x12 ledger pad, and some miscellaneous Prima based fussy-cut details.

Here it is - Serenity;

Subtle background masking and stamping in several
layers.

These Prima vellum bloom are really beautiful as they are.
Sprayed them with some Tattered Angels mist in
Silk and Scarlet. Glorious shimmering effect IRL!

Found the sweet tiles in my stash, think they are from the
Prima Songbird collection.

All embellies are from my stash of loose Prima goodies.

Thank you so much for coming for a visit, really appreciate it!

Till next time - toodeloo!
