Prima PPP December 2013 and still time to enter for my give-away

As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I've had both the Prima December BAP and PPP sitting on my desk half finished for a couple of weeks. I posted the BAP yesterday and thought I'd whip up something to finish the PPP today. Yeah - not! I only had time to convert the layout to 2 tags which will be attached to a couple of pressies at a dinner we are going to on Thursday.

For the first time ever, I am also having just one photo of my project. Me thinks my faithful camera is coughing and wheezing hinting it wants to retire!! Booo hooo! LOVE my handy little friend!

So here it is, my take on the Prima December PPP. All stash-raided stuff again.

2013 December PPP

To all my beautiful friends all over the globe - Happy New Year!!
I wish you all immense happiness in all you do.
Without you I would be pasting paper all by myself,
it is your support, encouragement and friendship
that enrich every single day of my life.

There are some magical people who made a difference
when I so desperately needed help.
You know who you are - I love you dearly!

I will be back tomorrow with the Scrap Around The World
January reveal.

You still have time to leave a comment and have a chance
of winning my give away posted yesterday.
My DH will pull a name (that of a follower) from the box at
noon CET 1 January.

Gott Nytt År!

Prima December 2013 BAP and a give-away

Not long now before we say bye to 2013 and hello to 2104. Looking back I say - what a year it has been!

Life has a way of throwing in surprises when we least expect them, both good and those that we can categorize under lessons. More than ever it has become evident to me that having a good health is the greatest gift of all, as is love. Without any of them, nothing else matters.

Back to scrappy business. I've had both the Prima December BAP and PPP sitting unfinished on my desk for a couple of weeks. I finished the BAP today and as the rains of the passed several days subsided for a beautiful sun, I could photograph it too. Kind of kept to the sketch.

2013 December BAP Magda
And here is my take - "The Robin".
All stash-raided stuff on this one as well.

Letting the photos speak for themselves.

I extremely rarely use only white cardstock
as base for my page.
Here I have used
just one piece of patterned paper
from the beautiful Delight collection,
the rest is soft mixed media.

All the flowers used were loose in a box,
so I haven't got their names or product numbers.

Here I have layered punched strips from the same
patterned paper from the Delight collection
with lace washi.

Just love the genie stones! they always add
that extra little to any page.

***
I have started on my second stash
purge of this year. Still have
oodles to go through before I'm done.

Here's a little give-away from Norwegian
Papir Design that any of my followers
can win.
You only have to leave
a comment on this blogpost et voilà!

Hubby will draw one name from the box
at noon CET on 1 January 2014.

Not saying Happy New Year yet,
who knows - I might be back sooner than expected!

Thanks so much for taking the time to
come for a visit!

Going stash raiding for Crate - more Summer Memories

Merry Christmas!

Not long now before we hear Santa knocking on the door!

Even if we have a very small family and cooking for Christmas Eve isn't too overwhelming, getting ready for Christmas this year has been a bit of a challenge. I came down with a nasty tummy bug last week and still haven't recovered so DH and Emelie (my step daughter) are in charge of everything food related. It means we are having a non-traditional Christmas with store-bought food.

In my previous post I shared a page created back in November with stash-raided Crate "The Pier" collection, some Basic Grey "Mint Julep" chipboard embellies and Maggie Holmes canvas frames. Here's another one on the same theme and same products - summer.

Letting the photos speak for themselves again.

This photo is taken almost in the  town centre. Stockholm is built on islands so we are surrounded by water, water and more water everywhere.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas!

I am particularly looking forward to
moments of quiet me-time, a glass of wine,
cuddles with my loved ones, chocolates
and watching loads of films.

Going stash raiding for Crate - Summer Memories

Hello there!

Christmas is waiting just around the corner and we are all so very very busy with last minute preparations. Remember to stop and b-r-e-a-t-h-e!

While rummaging in my stash back in November, I stumbled upon a whole unused collection pack of Crate "The Pier", some Basic Grey "Mint Julep" chipboard embellies and Maggie Holmes canvas frames. With such a concentration on creating tons of Christmassy projects at that time, it felt nice to create something that was colourful and full of summer.

So here comes a layout packed with all those summer feelings.

Letting the photos speak for themselves.

Thanks for popping in and saying hi!

I will be back on Monday, 23 December
with another quick post.

Cheers! xoxo Eila

Scrap Around The World December challenge - close-ups of my page "You Dream"

Hello beautiful peeps!

This sure is a busy time for us all, not long before Christmas now! Happy to say I'm all done with the gifts whohoo!

Today I'm sharing the close-ups of my page for the Scrap Around The World December challenge. Here's first the soft and dreamy moodboard by Zanka aka Zaneta Glowa to jog your memory.

I was inspired by all the different patterns, the soft golden yellow in the bottom right picture, the crackle in the photo with the ring and of course the hints of teal in the frames. The dew drops on the flowers and the overall feel of the moodboard.

My initial thought was to create something with frames but then my page morphed itself and ended up looking completely different.

I am being a good girl again, everything on this page
is stash-raided.
Even used scraps which I normally don't do.

The base is this flocked paper from KaiserCraft's
"Magnolia Grove" collection.
On it I layered left over scraps from Prima's "Delight" collection
and added masking/heavy matte gel with
a small floral patterned mask
before I washed everything in diluted gesso.

Next I covered everything in light matte gel and
added the softest hints of gold mist and
Ingvild Bolme's chalk edger in Peach and Pastel Blue
before spritzing with water and smooching it out with my fingers.

Then more masking with heavy modeling paste
and Shimmerz TextureZ in Sandy Stone.

The young lady in the photo is my stepdaughter Emelie.

Lastly I dabbed on Shimmerz TextureZ in Tidy Widy with a sponge,
that's the gritty texture seen in the photo,
and randomly applied some Shimmerz DazzlerZ in Spun Sugar
for subtle lustre.

Et voilà!

Thank you so much for taking the time to come for a visit, I truely appreciate it!

I will be back on Wednesday, 18 Dec.

Toodelipip! xoxo

OUAS December challenge - close-ups of my last DT page "July"

Hello hello!

Today I'm sharing the close-ups of my last DT page for Once Upon A .. Sketch. Bittersweet as always when it's time to say good bye. It's been a wonderful experience that lasted a bit longer than expected because Nadia had her precious Sofia when OUAS should have had it's DT call for the 2014 term. Thank you to all my beautiful teamies and our boss-lady Nadia :) All the best of luck to the new fabulous team, I know you will have fun!

So first the sketch and theme:

 Journalling Theme: "My favorite month"

 I flipped the sketch once to the right, like this;

Not difficult to guess which is my favourite month huh! JULY of course! sweet warm July filled with sun and happiness and balmy nights!

Continuing my stash raiding - have to pat my own shoulder he he!

The base of my page is the muted teal/white polka dot paper from
 KaiserCraft's Christmas collection "Just Believe".
On top of it is a paper from Polish UHK Gallery's collection
 "Olive Grove".

Layered on this are papers from KaiserCraft's collection "Magnolia Grove",
ledger paper from Glitz and
papers from a couple of collections from
Swedish Pion Design.

My journalling is these lines from a poem that I found on internet.
My heart certainly is in July!

A left over corner of a chippie frame from Dusty Attic.

I painted it in cream acrylic paint before dabbing on
some Shimmerz TextureZ in Tidy Widy.

Then I chalked everything randomly in Ingvild Bolme chalk edgers in
Pastel Blue, Pastel Pink, Pastel Peach, Turquoise Stone
and lastly in Shimmerz Candlelight.

I found this photo on internet. It's taken in the Stockholm archipelago.

Background work in heavy modeling paste,
heavy matte gel medium,
Shimmerz Candlelight digging up the golden
lumps from the bottom of the jar,
soft soft masking with Ingvild Bolme chalks.

Wonderful July, captured in delight.

Beautiful you - thank you so much for your visit!

I will be back on Sunday, 15 Dec
with the close-ups of my page
for the SATW December challenge.

Take care!
